The following document details itself as an integration step to connect a database created in Microsoft SQL server to Oracle BI 11g.
Considering the database is already set up in Microsoft SQL server, we have to follow the steps as mentioned below.
Step 1: Select ODBC data sources.
This is how ODBC Data Source Administrator looks like.
Step 3: Select System DSN from the list of tabs.
Click on the ADD option.
Step 4: Select SQL server from the list of drivers available. Click Finish.
Step 5: Open Microsoft SQL Server. Select the Server Name given:
ADMIN-MRADXQAWS\SQLEXPRESSStep 6: Name: SQLSERVER
Description: Any comment
SERVER: ADMIN-MRADXQAWS\SQLEXPRESS
Click Next
Step 7: Click Next
Step 8: Select the database created.
Here,we are trying to move a database named zenith.
Select zenith and click Next
Note: It depends on the database name defined in the Microsoft SQL Server
Step 9:Click Finish
Step 10: Click Test Data Source to check the configuration of the ODBC Data Source
Test Completed Successfully
Step 11: Check if the SQL SERVER is added in the ODBC administrator.
Step 12: Go to ORACLE BI ADMINISTRATOR TOOL
Step 13: SELECT THE NEW REPOSITORY
Write User name and Password
Step 14: Select SQL SERVER from the option.
Give the password as defined when you have installed OBIEE 11g
Step 15: Expand the database.
In this case, zenith.
Step 16: Select the tables from the database which are required to be imported in the repository.
Step 17: Click Finish when you have selected the tables to import.
MICROSOFT SQL SERVER Database is now imported in ORACLE BI Administration tool
